As I was searching for affordable compressors to be used as Podcast gear, the Squeez from Tapco came to mind. Tapco has been around for a long time. Part of the LOUD Technologies parent group which includes many industry staples, including Mackie, the Tapco name itself has a very interesting history.

BSW price on the Squeez is $99, so I wasn’t sure what to expect for such a low price?

The Squeez took me completely by surprise. I am very impressed with this box. The gate was average, but the compressor and the “Air” detail brought a very pleasing sound to my ears as it perked up the high end detail without sounding like an EQ.

This unassuming compressor felt solid, looked good and sounded much better than I expected for a sub-$100 unit.
