The Shure SM58 Microphone.

I can’t think of a microphone model that has been used at more live stage events, concerts, weddings, mobile DJ services, etc etc… than the Shure SM58.

The venerable SM58 was born in 1966 at the height of the Classic Rock era band movement. Without distractions like the internet or plasma television in HD, the sixties generation relied on music for inspiration and enlightenment.

From this era arose a microphone that itself is a legend and has enjoyed (sometimes more) staying power than the very instruments, vocalists and bands that utilized it.

Today, the SM58 remains the mic for all people. Its appeal as being THE microphone is founded in the SM58’s ability to do almost anything and do it reasonably well. This is one tough microphone that always pulls through.

While it is a basic cardioid dynamic, it becomes obvious Shure is proud of the SM58 upon opening the box. Included on top, is a Shure sticker. A small velcro strip with the Shure insignia is included to strap your XLR cable to the mic stand (unless you like twirling the microphone on stage by its audio cable - not recommended!) In the box, you’ll also get a boom/stand mount and a leatherette zipper pouch …as if the SM58 needs to be coddled!
