The Master Restoration Suite from Wave Arts.

Plug-ins. Whether recording music, Podcasting, voiceovers or other production/creation, we can never get enough of them. In case you haven’t used them, plug-ins are software modules available in several different formats that add capability to your audio software. If you need a particular compressor, EQ, reverb or other effect, there are many choices for 3rd party plug-ins to enhance your program material without hardware.

A long time producer of affordable and high-quality plug-ins hail from a company called Wave Arts. The Wave Arts Power Suite is a compilation of TrackPlug (a vocal strip style tool), MasterVerb is a high-resolution reverb, FinalPlug is a brick wall limiter and loudness maximizer that I use almost daily, MultiDynamics is a multi-band compressor and Panorama provides 3-D acoustics without travelling back to the 60’s.

As time went on, Wave Arts continually updated and tweaked these excellent tools (which are also available seperately.)

Recently, Wave Arts released their highly anticipated Master Restoration Suite, which is an audio repair toolkit in software. This type of tool is indispensable for ‘re-mastering’ or simply cleaning up audio blemishes from the old days of vinyl and cassette tapes. …I can’t wait to re-master that old mix tape I made for Laura in 1983!
