05.26The Crosley Radio iJuke Jukebox
Podcast Audio and Podcast Gear is HERE! …New Media Gear

Although not pro-audio, this is a fun show and an incredible product I want to tell you about. It’s no secret that I love nostalgia and retro audio. At the same time, the remaining part of my brain is all high-tech. I’m an early adopter extreme. …go figure
It’s this unique personality mismatch that keeps me looking at the Crosley Radio site, thirsty for any new offerings they may have. Crosley has a way of uniquely blending nice quality contemporary electronics and suiting them up with vintage eye appeal.
And so, the Crosley iJuke appeared in their “what’s new” section. I had to have one. This is a scaled down version of the classic Wurlitzer-style jukebox with a twist. Instead of 45’s or even CD’s, the iJuke has an iPod* universal dock. Surprisingly, my U2 video looks fantastic docked on the iJuke.
Aesthetically, this thing is beautiful. The site photos really don’t do it justice and it’s much larger than I thought. The cabinet is a beautiful mahogany wood with side mounted speakers and the front is complete with neon lights and “perculating” water. A remote control is included as well.
Speaker outputs on the back allow you to plug in your own set. The audio quality is on par with a nice office-sized stereo and filled our living room with nice audio.
The iJuke is certainly an attention-getter and at $199 retail, I think it’s a bargain.
Best,
MarkJensen & Laura
