The fact is that many on-air jocks never touch the fader level. Instead, industrial strength lighted on and off buttons takes care of the audio and studio switching logic for each fader.

In a broadcast console, when your mic console button goes live, a few things have to happen. The studio speaker/monitors mute, the on-air light brightens up and (most importantly) the mic fader is now “hot.” Until that mic button goes on, the fader can be wide open and you can be listening to music on the studio speakers. The Mic Pro button, when turned off, safely creates a high-impedance break in the audio path. When turned on, the full path is restored. The Mic Pro 2 includes a power supply to power the lighted LED’s for basic mic audio switching.

The optional solid-state relay can be added to switch devices that draw up to 5 amps. You can add as many Mic Pros as you have insert lines for multiple mic or device switching.
