Welcome! This show is all about a very unique telephony product that works with Skype.

If you work in a corporate environment, you probably know all about Polycoms (as they’re generically known.) When people say “Polycom”, they are usually mentioning a VoiceStation series tripod type phone. This company offers everything from the device we’ll talk about up to state-of-the-art Enterprise voice solutions.

I hesitate to call a Polycom a “speakerphone.” The classic VoiceStation type of conference phone would typically sit in the middle of a large corporate meeting table. The proprietary combination of diversity microphones and patented DSP technology cancels almost all of the echo and provides excellent voice quality.

When Polycom released the Communicator C100S, I had to try it out. This little device finally made my Skype voice capabilities a pleasure in one small USB connected box.
