12.09AKG 4500B - 144

Welcome!
As promised, I couldn’t help but try out a few more mics from AKG. Today, as I ready the Telos One Line for Gary, the AKG 4500B takes center stage on boom number 1.
The 4500B is a broadcast mic through and through. The well shielded 4500B is designed to shrug off all but the most pesky noise issues that sometimes plague a broadcast environment. Although it offers a 1″ large diaphram condenser element, the front-firing 4500B takes on the demeanor of a broadcast dynamic. The 4500B is versatile as well accepting 9-52VDC phantom power.
How does it sound? The 4500B even has a dynamic sound to it. As a good broadcast mic should, the element isn’t too sensitive for a working environment. Well behaved for voice work; mellow without trying to hit the high notes of a recording-style condenser.
BSW Price: $599
Stop by and have a listen to number 144.
Best,
