09.06Isolation Booths and More - 114
This mid-week PodSqod touches on the need for quiet. With hugely popular and affordable large diaphram condenser mics, we not only get great sound quality, but pick up all of the small sounds that sometimes our ears don’t even notice.
The solution? …an isolation booth
Unfortunately, iso-booths are very pricey for the Podcaster, take up space, require specially designed ventilation systems and will likely draw very strange glances from friends and family.
This is an extremely hot topic and PodSqod has discovered an absolute gem that provides a realistic compromise in dollars, space and appearance.
…stay tuned.
Have you calibrated your audio lately? Reference and calibration CD’s are critical for system calibration. Yes; software is out there that will do some of this. The important part is the DAC, or digital-to-analog conversion. We will be re-calibrating Studio1A since the recent wiring project has changed many different sonic characteristics on almost every analog hop.
Friday is just around the corner and so is the “Gary from BSW” weekly interview!
Best,
