The Stedman 101

Welcome! It’s the Friday Edition of PME, right off the virtual press.

A surprise visit from Laura is in order as we head off to Disney World for mid-day tea.
(I hope to make up for it by having a large steak dinner)

On the technology front, Laura and I talk about pop filters. Are they all created equal? No way! We both try on the Stedman 101 which works wonders for the dreaded “P-Pop.” Stedman uses the advanced “proscreen” technology to get it right. This means that you won’t be attenuating the high end of your audio and low frequency blasts are properly dispersed. Hard to believe, but there is real science here in everything from the shape and size of the holes down to little louvers that direct blasts at an angle.

Have a look at the Stedman ProScreen 101. For us, the 4.6″ oval was just large enough to cover even a large diaphram dynamic, but not too big or awkward. If your needs vary, you can try the larger XL or the thread-mount 100.

The model 101 has an MSRP of $59.

Friday wouldn’t be complete without our tech-talk with Gary. Considering the email response, mics are as popular as ever, so Gary and I talk a bit more about some interesting technologies including head worn mics. Be sure to click the BSW banner and start browsing from your own PodSqod Listener Landing Strip right on the BSW site.

Have a great weekend!

Mark & Laura
