During todays PME, I put together a few different styles of a very basic voiceover using 2 distinctly different techniques.

It was a lot of fun to do the editing on the fly (and even more fun moving between Adobe Audition and Podcast Station as I went from 4-track back to 2) and hope you enjoy the results. While I would normally take much more time to fine tune and “sweeten” the voice track on a professional job, I hope this gives you a feel for the process and I hope it sparks your interest if you’ve never created your own promo.

As I spent some of my day yesterday talking to a VP of Broadcast Engineering debating mic techniques, I was reminded of just how deep you can go. It also reminds me of the great devide between the worlds of radio, television, voiceovers, studio and live recording. As time marches on, so does the art of audio.
