After much prodding (that’s prodding, not podding) from our audience and listenership, he convinced the Sqod to supply Laura with a new microphone. The decision was made and she will be using a Rode NT1A condenser.

The trusty ole’ MXL V57A will still be put to use somewhere, but I must admit that this new Rode sounds fantastic! After auditioning and comparing it to my Rode NTK valve/condenser, I must say that the NT1 seems a little brighter. However, that’s exactly what I expected since I think the NTK sounds just a bit smoother.
